Celebrating culture

Students of all departments at Manipal University, Dubai Campus, gear up for yet another day of sashaying around in their ethnic best in light of this semester's Ethnic Day which has been scheduled for tomorrow, the 8th of May.

The first batch of Interior Design students (batch of 2004) on Ethnic Day last year.

The university supports a vast diversity of students from over 52 different nationalities and it is inevitable that a special day be set aside to celebrate the several cultures that come together. Ethnic Day gives one and all a chance to educate all around on what each one's individual cultures are all about.

As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive." For a culture to survive, it must exist in harmony with others. And tomorrow will dawn anew with the promise to renew this very conviction.
