Rules for Horizon 2008 student activities

The Horizons 2008 are all set to include fun and interesting activities for students to participate in. The rules and deadlines for these activities are as follows:

a. Ad Mad Show: Discover the most exciting, the most loaded in curious possibilities. Make your ad mad simple...memorable...inviting to look at. Make it FUN.

Rules & Regulations:
1. The team should comprise of 4-5 members.
2. The participants have to choose a product, assign it a brand name and decide a slogan.
3. The performing team has to come prepared with the concept and have to enact an advertisement for the product before the audience.
4. Jingles, songs, gestures, dialogues or props could be used in the show.
5. Avoid vulgarity and abusive statements.
6. The ad should not be an imitation of any existing ad.

b. The Marketing Mix - 4P's Presentation: The aim is to describe the strategic position of your product. Offer the product with the right combination of the 4P's and analyze the results to measure its marketing effectiveness.

Rules & Regulations:
1. Team should comprise 4-5 members.
2. Choose a product/ service category and assign it a brand name.
3. The presentation should consist of the following:
- Bases on which the team has segmented the market for the chosen product
- Target market chosen
- Positioning strategy and statement
- The 4 P's: Product, Price, Place and Promotion strategy (7 in case of services: Process,
People and Physical evidence)
4. The time duration for the powerpoint is 20-25 minutes.

c. Print Ad Contest: The aim is to say thousands of words through a single picture. Bring out the power of imagination and creativity in your own way.

Rules & Regulations:
1. The team should comprise of two members only.
2. The participants may choose a real or imaginary product.
3. They have to invent a new theme.
4. The print ad should not be an imitation of any existing ad/ theme.
5. The print ad should include the following elements:
- Headline/ Subheading
- Body copy
- Logo
- Slogan
- Name & Address (optional)
- Price of the product (optional)
6. The participants have to give a 5-6 minutes presentation, describing their product, theme, target market and the message and value the ad promotes.
7. The team has to submit one coloured hard copy (A3 size) as well as the soft copy of the same.
